I'm trying to keep my mind off the job situation. (I'm being paid through Wed. Still don't know if gallery will be reopening) So I'm just going to go random and tell you about myself....
1. I got a lower back tattoo before people called them "Tramp Stamps." I have a total of two tattoos and wouldn't recommend getting them. I like them on my husband, but occasionally wish I didn't have mine. Sometimes you out grow things. I call the tatt in the center of my back "I'm 18 and I can do what I want!" I didn't get cartoon characters, and if you're going to get a tattoo please don't get a cartoon. I can still remember this girl in high schools simba tattoo. It was on her lower back and she must not have been in a very good position when she got it, because when she walked around it looked stretched out and warped. I thought it was funny because she was a bitch. Now that being said, if I had the money I'd probably get more, because it's too late for me. I've got them and I might as well get more. My beautiful 20 year old friend Maria told me she wanted one, and I told her not to. She's way too pretty to mar herself with ink.
2. I'm currently stuck in a cycle of Amish Friendship Bread making. My family loves it so I keep making it. I give my extra bags of fermenting batter away, and I'm pretty sure they just get tossed. My main question is, why is there instant vanilla pudding in Amish friendship bread? How Amish is that?
3. I spent the morning flooding gopher holes. I don't know if it will work but the poison pellets weren't working all that well. I'm trying to keep them from moving in on my bulbs. Next up fencing out rabbits. They ruined my grass! God Damn rabbits. My bulbs are coming up, and my small scraggly weeping cherry tree is budding. Someday it will be big and beautiful!
4. I have a small collection of Dia de los Muertos bric-a-brac. I love that stuff! I like Mexican Folk art to begin with. Santos, retablos, Oaxacan carvings, various masks, but skulls are my fave.
5. I love angry boy music. Rollins Band, Slayer, Motorhead. I also love gay boy music. Like the Pet Shop Boys and Boy George. Now that I think about it, there isn't any rhyme or reason to why I like what I do. It's just gotta rub me the right way. The cd in my car has Motorhead, David Bowie, Ludacris, Radio Head, Rollins band, the Cure, Busta Rhymes, and The Clash on it. Oh my God do I love the Clash.

Go Dog Go!

I was informed 30min. before my son had to leave to catch the bus, that today is story day at school and he was supposed to dress up as a character from a book. He chose Go Dog Go! So I had to come up with a very quick costume idea. I cut off the ends of a pair of tights and quickly stitched them into a hat. Then I used markers to draw spots on the dog ears and put pink on the inside of the ears. Next a little eyeliner on his nose and cheeks. He looked SO cute!

No News
I still do not know if the gallery will be reopening. (just a note... I will not be mentioning where I work by name. I don't want to get in any trouble) I've been informed that I have the week off. I know that yesterday and today were paid, but do not know about the rest of the week. I figure If I hear nothing from the powers that be by Saturday, that it will be time to start submitting applications. I hate drama.
I've been focusing on the jewelry trunk show that will be occurring on March 21st at Jilli Kae Everything Chic. I'm excited and very nervous. Hopefully everything will go well!

No Good Awful Day
I went to work and the doors were padlocked. The owner is trying to figure something out and is continuing to pay me , but I don't know for how long or if I'll have a job for much longer. I guess I'll give them a day or two then start polishing up my resume. The anxiety is killing me! I LOVE my job! I love the Gallery, I love the work, I love the people! I don't want to be a greeter at Wal-Mart. I'm not old enough!

Generosity
Chad. the child I deprived of cake.

My generous Father and David
I came to a realization this last week that I'm not as generous as my father. When I was small my dad had to make business trips every other week. The man would save his airplane peanuts for my brother Matt and I. That means he saved his snacks from both his departing and returning flights. Anytime he flew we got honey roasted Delta peanuts on his return. So last week we had a lot of cake. My mother in law brought a half sheet chocolate Cost-co cake for my sons birthday. David was so excited! It had a skate border on it and he Kept exclaiming, "How did you know I wanted this cake??" Fast forward a week later. We are down to our last chunk of cake. Mike and I put the boys to bed, and I get out the cake. Mike tells me he was saving it for our oldest boy Chad. I tell him that we are eating it and if Chad asks about it the next day he can just give him some of the left over ice cream. After a little more convincing, Mike and I sit and eat the last of the cake. So I convinced my husband that we should eat the last of the cake instead of saving it for our child. It's not like I needed the cake. Chad had Ice cream the next day, and had totally forgotten there was cake waiting for him. He did have cake all week long. How bad should I feel?
