No Good Awful Day

I went to work and the doors were padlocked. The owner is trying to figure something out and is continuing to pay me , but I don't know for how long or if I'll have a job for much longer. I guess I'll give them a day or two then start polishing up my resume. The anxiety is killing me! I LOVE my job! I love the Gallery, I love the work, I love the people! I don't want to be a greeter at Wal-Mart. I'm not old enough!

  1. I feel for you. Now is an awful time to maybe have to find another job. It's horrible in Michigan - especially the Upper Peninsula.

Newspapers are collapsing left and right in this country and the fate of ours is a day by day speculation. I know they want to try to do an online paper - well, they have one but they want to do a more in-depth one and charge a subscription fee. The only reason to buy that would be for the local news and sports. It MAY work because we are a sports area but still will I have a job as a photographer? I'm hoping so - if only because I haven't found a way to actually support myself with the fine art photography I do. It's a nice addition to my pay, but hasn't developed into something I can use as my part of our family income alone.

    Good luck... keep us posted.

  2. Oh no...What are the chances something will be worked out? Do you work at an art gallery? Things are so bad all over...and here my husband and I are thinking of trying to relocate out of NY to someplace less-expensive...but we need jobs before we do. Not a likely scenario right now. I'm hoping something works out for you....Jennifer

  3. Oh no! I am sure there are plenty of jobs which you will find and qualify for, before you head into your nearest walmart...

But, that did make me giggle out loud...

    thinking of you..

  4. Thanks for the support guys. It's an art gallery. The owner has told us to sit tight and I will for a few days, but then it's time to to start submitting reumes. I can't wait for total collapse. My family can't afford it. Wal-mart greeter will be a job of last resort. People seem to like me, so I've got a few irons in the fire. We'll see what happens.
Thanks again Jennifer, Jude, and Sylvia!

Jude- Your very talented and something will happen so that you can continue with your amazing photography and support your family!
