Dunkin Donuts

So I'm not quite making it once a week. I feel tired and physically and emotionally drained it's hard to find the time and energy to blog. My inspiration for blogging tonight is my five year old boy, David. Friday night I woke to sobbing from David's room. I stumbled blindly down the hall to stepping on transformers and tripping on little boy laundry that was supposed to make it into the washer but did not. I climbed up to the top bunk to cuddle David. I asked him if he had a bad dream. His answer... "I dreamed we were at Dunkin Donuts and I want it to be real!" Then he sobbed even louder! It was hard not to giggle. I thought It was going to be the nightmare he has about a bee chasing him, but no he just woke up really disappointed to not be at a Dunkin Donuts. Anytime I thought about this today it made me smile. David really helped me through my day today.

Balloon Time

Today we went to the Balloon Fiesta. We were up by 4:00am. No joke! We had to be at the park and ride by 5:30 and we made it to the balloon Fiesta by 6:00am. It was then time for hot chocolate and whining until the first balloon took off at 7:30. It started off cloudy, dark, and cool, and ended bright and sunny! Fun was had by all. I think my pics are in reverse chronological order, but who cares!

. I got a new job and I HATE it. I'm looking for something else and I've only been there for a month! On a lighter note, Chad turned 8 and here are some pics. I'm going to try and post once a week. It's hard because I'm exhausted most of the time now. No one at my new job told me that my nine hour days would really be like 10. It's too damn much.

A Random Act of Kindness

Today I'm subbing at Jilli Kae boutique. This is just temporary, but greatly appreciated! It's been a pretty slow day today and at around 3 I got a real craving for a cookie. There's a coffee shop near by that has cookies the size of your head and I was fantasizing about shutting the store up and walking over for a cookie when a customer walked in. I told her that I was fantasizing about a cookie and she laughed. In fact I could barely speak of anything other then these cookies! We chatted for a bit and she said she would come back when her daughter came to visit hr net week. I told her to have a great day and she left. Ten minutes later she showed up with the very giant white chocolate macadamia nut cookie I had been day dreaming about! She said she just had to get it for me. I gave her a big hug and thanked her profusely! How sweet was that? Sweeter then that delicious cookie.

Just because it's true doesn't mean you have to say it!

Son 1: We are all midgets compared to dad. He is the tallest in our house.

Son 2: Yup. he's the tallest.

Son 1: But mom is the oldest person in our house.

OliveStreetStudio

I have been a fan of OliveStreetStudio since I first stumbled upon her blog and etsy shop. She makes the most adorable baby items as well as a few fun things for mom. With a new nephew on the way, I finally had a reason to buy a couple of her fabulous baby items!

When I saw this super cute monkey blanket I knew it I had to have it for our newest family member! I asked if I could get a matching bib, and she was happy to oblige. Now I have a sweet little gift set for the little monkey who will be joining us very soon.

Please visit her shop! Follow the link above and see the other pretties Jennifer has crafted! Here are some photos from her etsy site that I love, but have no reason to buy. Maybe you do?

This dress makes me want a little girl!

I love this sweet nursery rhyme blanket! So cute!

Thanks

Thanks to all who put up with my bitch fest yesterday. Sometimes it's just what you need to feel some relief!

I went for a run today. If you can call it that. I walk then pick out something in the distance and run to it, then I walk more. There was this one sprint where I thought "Wow! That last run was super long!" Then I realized that the same song was still on my mp3 player. It was a Ramones song which means I couldn't have been running for more then a minute and a half. It looked far, but I guess it wasn't. Still I was active for about an hour and it felt good. Except for the five minutes or so that breeze stopped and I got to feel the full force of the 88 degree weather and the blazing hot sun. I thought my ears were melting.

I look hilarious when I exercise. My face turns into a tomato and I sweat like Niagara Falls. My husband is always impressed with how much sweat I produce. He has told me that he wishes he would sweat that much. He thinks it would feel satisfying. It takes like an hour after exercise for my face to return to it's naturally pasty pale complexion. My mother calls it peaches and cream. Gotta love her.

Do any of you have those problems? Or do you all look fresh as Daisy's after working out?

My son the Artist

Both my sons are talented artists, but for today I'm focusing on my eldest, Chad. He's seven years old and has been drawing since he could hold a pencil! This is post is all about his art!

This is what he was drawing.

More art!

My favorite part of this sketch is the man and woman and what they are saying!

This is Man and Uvula Man. HAHAHA! (He named it.)

"Robot with Construction Arms"

Charlie Brown and Linus.

Alien Woman. (Notice the fish nets and cleavage)

Guy in construction paper outfit.

Squidward Tentacles.

This is a drawing of a woman that he copied. His father Made me something similar on a much larger scale and Chad did a really good job of replicating it on a smaller scale. He wasn't happy with the lips, but I wouldn't let him throw it. It was too good!
