Just because it's true doesn't mean you have to say it!

Son 1: We are all midgets compared to dad. He is the tallest in our house.

Son 2: Yup. he's the tallest.

Son 1: But mom is the oldest person in our house.

OliveStreetStudio

I have been a fan of OliveStreetStudio since I first stumbled upon her blog and etsy shop. She makes the most adorable baby items as well as a few fun things for mom. With a new nephew on the way, I finally had a reason to buy a couple of her fabulous baby items!

When I saw this super cute monkey blanket I knew it I had to have it for our newest family member! I asked if I could get a matching bib, and she was happy to oblige. Now I have a sweet little gift set for the little monkey who will be joining us very soon.

Please visit her shop! Follow the link above and see the other pretties Jennifer has crafted! Here are some photos from her etsy site that I love, but have no reason to buy. Maybe you do?

This dress makes me want a little girl!

I love this sweet nursery rhyme blanket! So cute!

Thanks

Thanks to all who put up with my bitch fest yesterday. Sometimes it's just what you need to feel some relief!

I went for a run today. If you can call it that. I walk then pick out something in the distance and run to it, then I walk more. There was this one sprint where I thought "Wow! That last run was super long!" Then I realized that the same song was still on my mp3 player. It was a Ramones song which means I couldn't have been running for more then a minute and a half. It looked far, but I guess it wasn't. Still I was active for about an hour and it felt good. Except for the five minutes or so that breeze stopped and I got to feel the full force of the 88 degree weather and the blazing hot sun. I thought my ears were melting.

I look hilarious when I exercise. My face turns into a tomato and I sweat like Niagara Falls. My husband is always impressed with how much sweat I produce. He has told me that he wishes he would sweat that much. He thinks it would feel satisfying. It takes like an hour after exercise for my face to return to it's naturally pasty pale complexion. My mother calls it peaches and cream. Gotta love her.

Do any of you have those problems? Or do you all look fresh as Daisy's after working out?

My son the Artist

Both my sons are talented artists, but for today I'm focusing on my eldest, Chad. He's seven years old and has been drawing since he could hold a pencil! This is post is all about his art!

This is what he was drawing.

More art!

My favorite part of this sketch is the man and woman and what they are saying!

This is Man and Uvula Man. HAHAHA! (He named it.)

"Robot with Construction Arms"

Charlie Brown and Linus.

Alien Woman. (Notice the fish nets and cleavage)

Guy in construction paper outfit.

Squidward Tentacles.

This is a drawing of a woman that he copied. His father Made me something similar on a much larger scale and Chad did a really good job of replicating it on a smaller scale. He wasn't happy with the lips, but I wouldn't let him throw it. It was too good!

D'oh!

I'm a moron. I was in my garden this morning looking for weeds to pull. Most every weed here has something sharp and prickly on it, so I like to get them young before they have a chance to get too painful. That's when I noticed this really strange looking group of stems coming up out of the ground in my bulb garden. I looked at them closer and I had never seen anything like them! They looked almost like asparagus. I tried to pull them up only to realize that the root wasn't coming up with them. I did a little digging and that's when I remembered the hibiscus I planted there last year. Yup. I just removed all the new growth from my hibiscus. If I may quote Homer Simpson, "I am so Smart. S-M-R-T!" and lets not forget "D'oh!"

Phone Conversation with My Father

Me: Hi Dad! What's up?

Dad: I found a mouse on the front step. I'm going to buy a aquarium for it and bring it over for the boys.

Me: Can't you just feed it to the cats?

Dad: (Chuckle) No. The kids will love it.

Me: Seriously. Just flush it down the Toilette.

Dad: No I really think the boys are going to like it. It's cute.

Me: Dad, it's a wild mouse. It could have rabies.

Dad: I think it's store bought and just got loose. It's a white mouse. Anyway I just wanted you to know that I'm bringing it over.

Me: Dad you can't! It's a mouse of questionable breeding and background.

Dad: (Laughing) So are you.

Me: Why don't you just keep it at your house?

Dad: The kids aren't over often enough for me to keep it here.

Me: I'll send them over twice a week to visit it.

Dad: I was just going to drive over and leave it at your front door and run away. You should be glad I'm warning you.

Me: It could have a disease! I can't keep it here. Give it to Jonny! (My youngest brother)

Dad: Here, talk to your mother.

So far no mouse. we'll see what happens today.
