Chad's Ren and Stimpy Drawing

Chad drew this for me today. It's his drawing of Sammy Mantis, Powdered Toast Man, Stimpy, Ren, and Mr. Horse. Drawn from memory. Ren is saying " You ate my turkey!" Decent phonetic spelling i think. Now I don't know about you, but I was drawing ridiculous looking stick figures when I was seven. I can find one of my sad stick figure drawings an upload it sometime. Both my boys draw really well. They take after dad. Although he says he didn't draw that well when he was their age. Of course we give a great deal of encouragement to our kids. Mike didn't get much of that. Chad didn't color powdered Toast Man because he didn't have the right color.

Car Trouble

I've needed a new car battery for about a month now. My goal is to make it to March before I get one. Guess what wouldn't start this morning??? This month has not been a good month money wise. My husbands hours got cut drastically, and I had to decide between keeping the lights on or getting a jump once a week. I went with the jump. Hopefully the battery will last two more weeks on this cycle. Seriously, my mortgage is already late, but it's just going to have to wait until the 26th of this month, and there are only 28 days in Feb!!! April will be our savior. My mortgage goes down $150.00 and I get three pay checks that month. I'll be able to finally put us back on the "on time" Track again. Just one more month of making it by the skin of my teeth, and I'll be back to making it by the skin of my seat! That's my life right now. One prob to the next. It's always something.

Birthday

My David is 5 today!!!!! I can hardly believe it. Every parent says that, and they are correct. If you really want to watch life pass in the blink of an eye, have kids. He still has great cheeks! I never get tired of kissing them. Speaking of Birthdays, my brother Matt turned 30 two weeks ago. I'm older by 10 1/2 months. So we're both 30 until March 28th. Then I'm 31. (Just in case you couldn't do the math yourself.) We thought this was awesome when we were small. We would run around telling everyone we were twins. Then my mom would have to explain that we were, in fact, twins of the Irish variety. She said It used to embarrass her, but she got over it. Off to make cake!

TRUNK SHOW!!!!!!

So I went to this adorable shop yesterday to show the owner my work. I will be having a trunk show there during an open house at the end of March! I'm so excited! One big bummer, I can't afford any more supplies till I get paid the first week of March. Which means I'll have to pay extra for expedited shipping so I can bulk up the inventory before the show. My next pay check will be going to the mortgage. God I love being house poor. I'll update with more details when I get the chance!

Mess Magic

I'm in the creative throws of jewelry making. I got new metal clay, new wire, new chain, new ideas. It's so exciting! I don't know if anything will make it on my etsy or not. I have a few leads here in town. My friend and Boss told me that she talked to the owner of a gift shop in town and she's interested in carrying my stuff. Sahweet! She's so encouraging! It's good to know people who know people. Especially when you don't know very many people. Did that make sense?

Eat your heart out!

Tuesday, February 3, 2009

My seven year old Chad took his first shower the other day. He loved it so much that he made me wake him up early so that he could take another shower before school. Then he asked for hair gel. As a joke my husband camehome from work with a can of tag body spray for him. He told me it took him like five tries to find on that wouldn't make him smell like a little gigolo. The other day I joked that Chad smelled good like a little gigolo. Mike told me not to say that. "Would you call your daughter a whore?" So I get it. I should probably not have called my son a gigolo, but Mike should not have made that particular point in front of our son, because then he looked at me and said, "I'm not a whore!" Then he giggled. Now he walks around the house telling everyone he's a jello. (He can't remember the correct pronunciation.)

Culo

I think a family in Mexico makes these "Women of the Night" I love them. Huge asses and and tacky lingerie. I have no ass and cotton underpants. So it's nice to see something different. I found them at John Isaac's Antiques in Old Town Alb. I don't remember what they cost, but Mike snapped a shot. The place is filled to the top with Mexican, Guatemalan, and South American antiques as well as contemporary folk art. I love it!
