So the job search is not going all that well. My former employer gave me one last paycheck. I've filed for unemployment, next up.... Welfare. I apply for jobs all the time, but haven't heard back from anyone. The market is pretty flooded with applicants right now. I feel frustrated and unproductive. I haven't started to make any new jewelry and I think I'm sinking into a depression. I'm trying to think of things I've done that are productive to keep myself positive. Here's my list.

1. Planted a tree yesterday. It's a Navajo Globe Willow. It grows fairly rapidly and I'm hoping that someday it blocks the view of the two story house behind us. At night they can see right in our kitchen and we can see in to their bedroom. Eeeewwwww.

2. I cleaned our bedroom. This may seem like not a big deal, but our room is where we throw everything. It looks like a bedroom now and not a storage closet. It's pretty cool and much sexier!

3. I folded a mountain of clothing. I'm not shitting you. I was folding laundry all day. I am not a very good house wife. I don't like house work and I HATE folding laundry. I got it done though!

4. I've started tanning. Now I know this is not good for you. I put SPF 50 on my face and lay out in my back yard. Another reason to block the view of the people who live behind me. I don't want to scar anyone with the image of me in a bikini. My Midriff is scary. It looks a lot like a balloon that was over inflated then popped. My skin and pregnancy didn't mix well. I could deal with stretchmarks, but the sagging skin is a horror show. Wish I had better genetics in that area. By the way I think right now is the perfect time to start tanning in Albuquerque. I lay out 20 min. a side and have not burnt yet. In the summer, I'd be a lobster!

I feel this list is a bit short so I'll be working on cleaning and organizing the master bath and closet today.

A special Thanks to Boutique by Bonnie! She nominated me for the Kreative Blogger award. I'm not sure how creative I am but I really appreciate the nod! Check out her blog at...

I don't know how to pick up the award. I know. I'm lame. But I'm nominating 7 bloggers anyway. You might not be able to pick up your award form me from me but I think your Awesome! That's right. Capital A.

On a final note, I have a question. Is it bad that my breakfast is wheat thins and coffee?

  1. So sorry to hear about the job situation. I'm sending good thoughts your way. Nice to get the house organized tho! my husband cleaned our kitchen this weekend - and like you, now looks like a kitchen instead of a closet. :-0

Thanks for the Blogger award! Like you, I don't know what it is, but the fact that you like my blog is good for me! :-)

  2. Hey there,
Sorry to hear that things are not looking (or feeling) up for you.

I do not think it's bad to have wheat thins and coffee for breakfast! I also think it's great that you can lay out in your yard and get a tan. I could lay out and all I would get is pneumonia!

Stay strong for your boys...! I am sure things will get better.
I bet you would feel a little better if you just made yourself create for a little bit. The hardest part is getting started!
Oh, and thanks for the award!

    Sylvia C.

  3. Don't worry! Just try to remember you're not alone, tons of people are out of work right now and there along with you! Try to focus on Etsy - wouldn't it be cool if Etsy could be job?

  4. Olive: That's my next project after closet and bathroom. KITCHEN. My pantry is a disaster, and when my husband puts the dishes away, there's no rhyme or reason to it. He says I should just be happy that he puts them away and quit complaining about where.

Sylvia: I am getting a cold but I hardly think it has anything to do with laying out in 70 degree weather. I'm going to get to work on some jewelry making. I think you're right!

Lova: Etsy for a living would be awesome! If you ask my husband it would be etsy and porn.

  6. gosh, the job market is so tough right now. I know quite a bit of very qualified people out of work. It's a bummer. I guess this is when the creative person really has the opportunity to strike out and really succeed. Creativity is what will get our economy back on track. I'm totally convinced of that (and I know I'm not the only one who believes that the most creative people will thrive from this downturn). I hope you get the opportunity to use your talents... You have a lot of them.

Thanks so much for the kreative blogger award! It's nice to be loved:)

  7. Haha omg you're hilarious. I'm so glad someone commented on the skull ring! Personally, it was my favorite part :)

And yay, thank you so much for the award! If you want to post it on your blog, just go to the layout function (I think... though I have been drinking, so take this with a grain of salt) and do add element and choose picture. Then just upload it (though you have to have downloaded it first).

Ok not making too much sense. Will give directions tomorrow. Thanks again!!

  8. P.S. Sorry for not answering any of your actual questions.

The job market stinks right now. Half of the people I know are laid off, so you're definitely not alone. I'm sort of counting the days til I join. :(

And my breakfast generally consists of a diet coke and peanut butter, so you're still beating me in terms of health, so you win!

  9. Breakfast - mine is just coffee. Probably not a good idea, but I find if I EAT FOOD for breakfast, I get hungrier earlier for lunch, and then I want breakfast EVERYDAY and then my butt and thighs show the results. Hence, I stick with coffee. :-0

  10. Hi there, pls check the link to your etsy store, it seems there is no code to it?

  11. Oh, I see you closed the store. Anyways, thanks for following my blog and good luck with your endeavours!
